Wassily Kandisky is one of my favorite abstract artists. I just love his usage of color with basic shapes like the circles. I thought this lesson would be a great opportunity for my students to learn about abstract paintings. What I love the most about this lesson was that it also gives my students the opportunity to come up with some cool artwork using bold colors and basic shapes. The materials that were used for this project work oil pastels on a 9X12 black construction paper. I could have used watercolors or tempra paint on paper but I like the contrast between the oil pastels and the black construction paper. Below is a quick video for you on how to start this lesson.
